1No trays, no grow lights, no transplanting. Loosen the soil, scatter the seed and press it in lightly.
2Keep the soil moist for the first 2 to 3 weeks. Sprouts show up in about 7 to 10 days. Once established, zinnias handle heat and dry spells well.
3First flowers arrive in about 2 to 3 months. Cut stems for the vase every week and the plants keep blooming until frost.
Tip: cut in the morning and put the stems straight into water.
