Growing Tips
- Sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost, or direct sow outdoors once soil temperatures reach at least 60 degrees F
- Press seeds lightly into moist seed-starting mix and keep them near the surface - Thai basil seeds need light to germinate
- Expect germination in 5 to 10 days with consistent warmth (70 to 80 degrees F)
- Transplant seedlings outdoors after all frost risk has passed, spacing plants 12 to 18 inches apart
- Pinch flower heads as they appear to extend the harvest and keep foliage flavorful
- Water regularly at the base of the plant and provide at least 6 hours of direct sun daily
