Product Details

Bloomsdale Spinach is a time-tested heirloom variety known for its thick, dark green, savoyed leaves and rich flavor. This 2-pack contains 704 non-GMO seeds (352 per pack) and is well suited for home gardens, container growing, and hydroponic setups.

  • Non-GMO heirloom variety - Bloomsdale is an open-pollinated, heirloom spinach with crinkled, savoy-type leaves that hold up well in salads and cooked dishes.
  • 704 seeds total - Each pack contains 352 seeds, giving you two full packs for successive plantings or larger garden beds.
  • Fast-maturing - Bloomsdale spinach typically reaches harvest in 40 to 50 days from sowing, making it one of the quicker leafy greens to grow.
  • Hydroponic compatible - These seeds perform well in hydroponic systems as well as traditional soil gardens.
  • Beginner friendly - Spinach is a straightforward crop for gardeners at any experience level.
  • Planting instructions included - Basic sowing and care directions are provided with each order.

Growing Tips

  • Sow seeds directly in the garden in early spring or fall when soil temperatures are between 45 and 65 degrees F. Spinach bolts in summer heat.
  • Plant seeds about 1/2 inch deep and 2 inches apart in rows 12 to 18 inches apart. Thin seedlings to 4 to 6 inches apart as they grow.
  • Spinach prefers fertile, well-drained soil with a pH of 6.5 to 7.0. Keep soil consistently moist.
  • Begin harvesting outer leaves once the plant has 6 or more leaves. Avoid cutting the central growing point to extend the harvest period.
  • For hydroponic growing, use a nutrient solution formulated for leafy greens and maintain water temperatures below 70 degrees F to discourage bolting.
