I love the ceramic pots and the fact that the kit came complete with everything I needed to get the seeds started. The plants are looking a little spindly, so I'm hoping for the best.

This was ok. It was a late winter family activity to start and the instructions were followed exactly. The pots were a decent size, packaging of the items, soil, seeds, and signs looked good. However, the sold kept getting white mold/fungus on it and though the herbs did sprout, most died despite our care. We made two attempts and have called it quits after 3 months.

I wanted to love this. I thought it would be a quick, easy way to start a few herbs in my home. The items were packaged very nicely. I received 8 pots and 7 saucers and only 4 soil pods. Needless to say, I did not plant all my seeds and had to pick and choose which herbs I use most instead of benefiting from planting all of them. They are currently sitting in my sunroom as I wait for them to sprout.

Yes, it contains everything you need to grow the herbs, but there are very few seeds in each packet, which is the main component. I already started to soak the pellets before I opened the seed packages, otherwise it would've been returned. Don't waste your money.

Wanted to really love this, but can’t. Like several other reviewers said. It came with everything dirty as the pear moss tablets weren’t in something to prevent from messing everything up. The directions provided were followed to a T. I did it as a project with my family, had it set up under a grow light too. All was going well then all of a sudden 4 of them look stunted and just started shriveling up. I contacted the company and they sent replacements which was great. However by the time those were received and set up again, the other 4 started to do the same. At this point I have just pots with peat moss only in them as the herbs have all shriveled up and dried out and died before it could even grow any more than 3” about the pot rim.

I bought this kit so that I could start a kitchen garden. The seeds were beautifully packaged, and it was super easy to prepare the included pots with the peat mixture. I planted my seeds on February 4. It is now March 14, and not only have my seeds germinated, all except the oregano are three to six inches tall (the oregano is very slow to germinate), they are very healthy. The plants are beautiful. I love that the wooden plant stakes are included so that you can keep track of which plant is which, and feel like you have a beautiful display. Although I purchased this kit for myself, I think this would be a lovely housewarming or holiday gift.

I love to garden. I think I do pretty darn well, if I do say so myself. My sunroom is filled with beautiful plants, some I've nursed from others who gave up, some from seeds and some purchased that have gone wild with love.
While it was interesting watching the pods of soil "grow" and I truly enjoyed doing this quick project with one of my daughters, the makers of this packed about 1/10 the amount of seeds that SHOULD have been packed. Why skimp on the seeds? Oh, thanks for the kelp pack. Seriously, Dollar General sells more seeds than this for 4 for a $1. I wish I had taken pictures of the seeds in the baby Ziplock bags. It was comical.
What's the point of all of this if you have to use tweezers to get out the seeds in a few packages? NO... I'm not exaggerating. Yes, make sure you're wearing your eyeglasses so you can see the miniscule seeds. It's sitting a sunroom. I meticulously found a balance of water, warmth and sun to get these things going within a couple of days. After that... it's been a slow burn. The only ones that have "done" anything are the Curled Chervil, Rosemary and Basil but even then, it's so sparse, it's sad. The Cilantro started growing well and then it shriveled. As you can see, the Thyme, Lemon Balm and Oregano had about one sprout that has been perpetually stunted. I suppose, you're paying for the baby planter pots?

What I love about this kit. The pots are a nice size, the have the drain base. Plenty of the sod, or dirt. I love the directions that comes with the set. It has great information, and let's you know about the difficult plants.
What I didn't like. The wooden label sticks are beautiful, but you must watch them in the beginning if you cover with Saran wrap, because of mold. I have now removed them. And the number of seeds given. Such a small amount for the price. Not much room for user error for us beginners, or just bad seeds. Some of the seeds are so small that if you blink you'll lose them. Although this kit was cute, it's not beginner friendly.

I bought this kit as a Birthday Gift and I was in LOVE the minute they opened the kit. The pots that come with this set were way better than I had pictured from the product images. They are wide, short and well made. I am now buying a Bonsai kit for myself, I am a HUGE fan of this product. It is a must for a gift or for yourself.

I have several complaints here. This kit is not user friendly. They don't wrap the soil discs and thus it was a big dirty mess! This was a Christmas present and I had to spend time cleaning the plastic pots and even the inside of the box itself which was covered in dirt. I didn't appreciate having to to this when it would have been considerate for the company to wrap the soil for the customer. I also did not appreciate the instruction manual which has extremely small and very light print and is difficult to return. Overall, I think this kit is not user friendly and is VERY overpriced.

Holy cow, if you plan to give this as a gift (as I did), please open it beforehand to save yourself embarrassment. The entire contents of this kit was filthy. There was no indication that the outer box had been opened, but it must have been opened, resealed and resold without being checked over. The packaging for the "Kelp Nutrition Pack" is missing, but I suppose the "Kelp Nutrition" is what is scattered all over.
3 stars b/c I can't comment how the seed growth or anything else works as I'm not able to get that far with this product and don't have the "Kelp Nutrition" pack to use. This item was pretty close to what I wanted to gift, so I hope I can find something else that will deliver as quickly.

They were great, started sprouting within a week or two and were growing really well. I went on vacation for a week and my boyfriend forgot to water them so some of them died but a few are still going strong. User error on our parts but fun to watch grow.

I've had this set for almost a yr. These still aren't grown enough to use. I followed the directions exactly as described. I've had them in my kitchen windows and during the winter had a small grow light. Still only about 3 inches tall. 2 of the variety included didn't produce anything.

All was good until the direction said to soak the seeds. No insight on how to retrieve the seeds after soaking or how many (if you could get ahold on the seeds) to try and plant per hole in soil. I had to improvise after soaking seeds and drain them into a paper towel, then try to pick up wet seeds with wet fingers and try and get them into the holes in the soil and off my fingers. We'll see it goes from here. Nice grow guide, pots and soil cubes, just need a bit more info about actually getting the seeds from soaking to soil.

Mostly easy. There is some issue with the type of plant food if you are, like so many others, growing indoors under grow lights. It is very prone to mold growth more so than others, however if you can get past that this is a very good set. Some type of warning would have made this easier. As it stands the plants that did not make it either because of the mold despite resorting to watering via dropper to give just enough and no more, and a move where some did not survive the shock, did save some seeds to try again and will be attempting such and how I handle this will be a little different knowing how prone the soil is to mold once you’ve mixed in the plant food that comes with it.
Otherwise this is a very good set with a very good germination rate. Even with the rosemary, which is rare.

I don't know if the included seeds will grow yet but fingers crossed. Very cute. Very nice quality. Little tip, the drain holes are very large. I placed wide mouth ball jar lids in the bottom to decrease dirt fall out but still allowing drainage. 2 pots are a white/blue swirl and the other 2 are white/green.

Never grown herbs before, overall good experience. That being said its definitely a 1 time thing. Next time I'll go buy seeds and potting mix on my own and get exactly the herbs I want. I marked this kit down for 2 reasons. 1 of the seed packs was blank unmarked, I'm guessing it was Chevril, but I didn't bother planting them. The smaller seeds were near impossible to get out of the packaging. They were so tiny that they don't come out when you turn them over. I also feel like I lost some when I stuck a finger in to get them out of the packaging. I ended up cutting the package open to get them. I wish they'd noted the that it was easier to cut open the package to get them. Besides that I'd definitely suggest trying this out for first time growers.

Planted this tiny herb garden with my daughter. We followed all the instructions, all seeds sprouted successfully withing a few weeks, and are now growing into cute little plants. I liked that everything was included, and the tiny pots actually look good on the windowsil. Even have a bit of soil leftover from the kit to add as necessary. The amount of each seeds is more than sufficient for one planter.

I love the set but was upset because the Basil seeds were missing in 2 of the 3 sets I purchased. I bought one for 3 different houses and in 2 of the boxes……. No basil. I’m not going to return the entire box so I’m not really sure how to fix this.

Each seed pack contains miniscule amount of seeds. Some of the seeds are in plastic packaging, which made getting all of the seeds out very difficult.
